HGH Side Effects
Like any other form of performance enhancing medication, HGH has its side effects too. The causes are wide and varied.
The first is of course unscrupulous pharmaceutical companies. Many of the less reputed firms think it is their right to take customers for a ride and pass on almost anything for HGH. If they are innocuous placebos you are only being shortchanged, but if they are adulterated cheap sakes, then you might be headed for real and present danger.
The side effects of HGH can be disastrous ranging from joint pain, fluid retention to high blood pressure and abnormal growth of the bones. Generally most HGH cures tend to focus on the short term remedy of the problem and it can result in fluid retention, pain in the joints, resistance to insulin and swelling in the joints.
When HGH is used to ‘reverse the ageing process’ it can also lead to high blood pressure, severe joint pain, swelling of the joints and facial bone growth. When used by athletes over a long period of time, the side effects can be even more deadly like irregular heart rhythms, increased diabetes risk, deformities in the facial bones and rendering the pituitary glands ineffective.
The side effects of HGH abuse can be toned down by reducing the time period for which HGH is used. Lowering the intake quantity of HGH can also trim down the intensity of the side effects and the quantity of the side effects. As HGH is a substance that is artificially injected into the human body, the human body treats it as a foreign body and sets off alarm bells ringing.
This distress sign is the signal that something awkward is happening in your body. Your body naturally produces HGH, and any input in excessive proportions can cause an imbalance in the normal functioning of the body.
You may well be aware of the ill-effects of alcohol abuse and the disgusts of a hangover, the morning after a night of heavy drinking. Your body internally reacts in much the same way although you may not realize it. It takes time to recover to its usual former self. If you resort to HGH overdose over a prolonged period of time the side effects will be all the more pronounced.
Your liver is the worst affected. It has to work overtime to regulate the sudden increase in HGH in your bloodstream. The liver is subjected to undue stress and ultimately may get severely damaged. Your body senses that the level of HGH is higher in your blood and may take it as a sign to stop producing any HGH on its own. If this continues then one fine day your pituitary gland may finally close shop and shut down for good.
The side effects that HGH can have on the human body are also seen in causing cancer and affecting the cardio vascular system. Studies have revealed that HIV positive patients who were being treated with HGH showed abnormal pancreatic functioning, higher level of glucose in the blood and ‘carpal tunnel syndrome’.
Another possible area where HGH is used with disastrous results is bodybuilding.
HGH causes increase in muscle growth and bone growth in children and this theory is taken a bit too far in the bodybuilding fraternity. It is not detected by steroid tests and may be the reason for its popularity. Too much HGH in the human body can cause ‘Acromegaly’ which occurs if HGH levels are too high.
The bones are caused to grow abnormally and protruding of the jaw bone and facial bones along with enlargement of the internal organs, including the heart are common. As these phenomena are irreversible it is potentially dangerous.
What then should one do? Well, you should always consult a doctor before using HGH and even then, keep the dosage to a minimum level. Keep away from it if you can help it and always resort to HGH use as a last ditch effort.
