HGH Spray

HGH is the short name of what is known as human growth hormone. This hormone is secreted by pituitary gland, one of those endocrine glands which send the chemicals produced by it directly into blood stream instead of into a duct. The function of this hormone is to help children grow and in case of adults, to maintain the metabolism. This hormone has been successfully synthesized.

HGH therapy is mainly used to help those children whose production of this hormone is below normal and show poor growth. By this therapy, these children have shown remarkable improvement in their growth process.

This therapy is quite prevalent among athletes and players for development of their muscles and improvement of their stamina. The level of this hormone is highest among the adolescents and its level declines as a person gets older.

The declining level of this hormone is considered one of the reasons of onset of ageing process in human beings. It has been found that by going for HGH therapy, the effect of this ageing process may be reduced and can be neutralized. But, this therapy has to be undertaken under proper supervision of a doctor. Otherwise, this therapy may lead to disastrous results.

There are different methods of HGH therapy. The most common one is to inject the hormone in the body to increase its level. There is another method of using pills or capsules containing different herbal components. These herbal products help the body to produce more of this hormone. Another method of therapy is to use the liquid form of the hormone as a spray.

While using injection is considered most effective method for HGH therapy, they are very costly and quite painful to take. On the other hand, absorption of the hormone as spray is much faster as it is directly absorbed through the lining of the mouth instead of getting broken down in the stomach and liver then absorbed by the body in case it is given in tablet form.

Companies marketing these HGH spray claim the effectiveness of their product. They claim that these sprays have no side effects and are easily available without any prescription. It is quit cheap in comparison to the cost of similar treatment using injections.

Uses of these sprays are more prevalent as anti ageing therapy. By searching internet for HGH products, many sites could be found which claims the effectiveness of HGH spray therapy. But, they are not legally allowed to claim any health benefits of these products.

One of these sites refers to a study made by Dr. Robert Lawrence and Dr. Babak Parisaa of The Bushard Medical Group, Los Angeles, California. They have done this study on 200 healthy patients of age 35 to 80. This group consisted of 112 female and 88 males.

They were administered 2000ng/ml plant based oral spay below the tongue. The study did not involve any change in diet. These persons were administered 3 sprays in the morning within one hour of their awakening and 3 sprays in the evening immediately before going to sleep every day.

Some of them were receiving placebo instead of the hormone. It was observed that those who were actually receiving the hormone showed significant improvement in the secretion of HGH in the body, increase in HDL level, decrease in LDL and triglycerides after sixty days of the study. But, those who were receiving placebo did not show any significant change in them.

But, there are other opinions also. In an article in March, 2006, Dr. Ron Klatz, President, The American Academy of Ant-Aging Medicine tells that all the claims made by the companies marketing HGH spray are bogus and only effective method of treatment is by using injections under the guidance of a physician.
